Moca is an acronym for “materials and objects contacting foods”, and refers to the things that enter in contact with food products along the whole industrial chain, from the production phase to the management phase.
To assure the safety of Moca’s and promote free circulation of goods, the European Union sets a series of legal requirements and control ways to be observed. In addition, “MOCA’s” are regulated by national standards.

The European regulations indicate the characteristics of materials aimed to be in contact with foods: regulation (CE) No. 1935/2004 is a general milestone for all the materials designed to be in contact with foods; regulation (CE) 2023/2006 indicates good manufacturing practices for materials and objects contacting food products.

SteriValves provides the documentation of compliance of materials aimed to be in contact with dry solid foods for all the STERIVALVE and ROTOVALVE LIGHT butterfly valves, for packings and flexible fittings (SILEND).
